Learn or develop your nuno felting skills, this is a beginners and players class. Llawenyth lives in Melbourne and has taught felting skills interstate, she has a love for felt and demonstrates elegant skill for passing knowledge on.

Workshop Description:

Beginners Nuno-felting & Felting Making flat felt – scarves, book covers, wraps. Saturday workshop for people who have not felted before.

Make an item of beauty, warmth and texture in the colours of your life. Essentially, we will be making a piece of felt that can be a scarf, a wrap (shawl), or a piece of fabric that can be stitched later into book covers, tea pot covers, or a wall piece. Learn to felt silk gauze & wool to make an exquisite scarf. Wool & fabrics for nunofelting will be available to purchase in a variety of colours. Start thinking about your project. Max number for the workshop 12.

$132.00 includes small kit - 30gr of mixed silk and wool top, and some tissue silk for starters. More wool and tissue is available at the venue. A list of requirements needed for this workshop is below.

Equipment - you need:

• a broom handle, or piece of dowel about a metre long, or small cane blind with the fittings taken off

• two metres of bubblewrap (smaller bubbles not large)

• dishwashing detergent

• old towels; sponges are handy

• old stockings or old t shirts cut into strips for tying

• builders plastic or thick black plastic to cover/protect floors and tables

• plastic bucket, bowls

• plastic spray bottles – old plastic milk bottles with holes pierced in the top

• net curtaining a little larger than bubblewrap ie goes over the edge

• apron or wear older clothing (sometimes you can get a bit damp)

Most of these are available in op shops or hardware stores. Bubblewrap can be purchased at Beautiful Silks by the metre.

Bring your lunch - we provide complimentary refreshments including a range of healthy teas. We limit our classes to 12 people maximum.

Doors open 9.30 for a 10.00am start.
